Established in 2014, MOONTON Games is a global video game company dedicated to gaming development, publication, and esports. With more than 1,600 employees worldwide, the company operates offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Latin America, Hong Kong, and mainland China.


We have successfully launched several high-profile mobile games globally and has built long-term relationships with governments and esports organizations in more than 30 countries worldwide. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is an award-winning multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game available on the App Store and Google Play; it has over 1.465 billion installations and a monthly active user base of over 110 million players, as well as being among the top 10 most-played games in over 80 countries.

2024
  • In January 2024, Esports Charts, a third-party esports analytics platform, revealed that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) was the most-watched mobile game in esports with 530.16 million hours of total viewing time. This was an increase of 200 million from 2023.

  • In January 2024, MOONTON Games, in conjunction with the Esports World Cup Foundation, jointly announced that MLBB has been selected as the inaugural game for the Esports World Cup. A multi-year collaboration agreement was signed by both parties.

2023
  • In January 2023, Esports Charts, a third-party authoritative data platform, released multiple global esports rankings for 2022. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) achieved the highest peak viewership and hours watched out of all mobile events, claiming seven spots in the Global Mobile Esports Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV) Chart.

  • In January 2023, the 4th MLBB World Championship (M4) concluded in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event set a viewership record of 79.68 million hours of total viewing time and a PCV of 4.26 million, an impressive increase of 33.5% compared to M3.

  • In April 2023, pre-registration for the next-generation fantasy RPG game, Watcher of Realms, commenced.

  • In May 2023, MLBB made its 3rd appearance at the 32nd SEA Games. The Women's Tournament was held for the first time, becoming the all-time most-watched Women's esports event with a PCV of 1.37 million.

  • In July 2023, the first-ever Mobies took place in Los Angeles, USA. MLBB swept four accolades, namely "Best Mobile Competitive Game of 2023", "Best Mobile Esports Event of 2023", "Best Mobile Esports Team of 2023", and "Best Mobile Esports Player of 2023".

  • In December 2023, MLBB was named the "Mobile Game of The Year" at The Esports Awards, while also being a finalist for the "Game of The Year" and "Publisher of The Year" categories.

  • In December 2023, the M5 World Championship in Manila, the Philippines, became the most-watched MLBB esports event of all time with 5.07 million PCV. This cemented MLBB's place as the most-watched mobile esports event globally in 2023 and among the world's most popular esports titles.


2022
  • In January 2022, the first Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational (MWI) obtained 392,000 peak concurrent viewers (PCV), making it one of the most watched women's esports events of all time.

  • In May 2022, the curtain descended on the 31st SEA Games, with MLBB ratings ranking 1st of all esports titles.


2021
  • In 2021, Mobile Legends: Adventure entered Japan and South Korea, both topping the Apple and Google free game charts.

  • In January 2021, the M2 World Championship was successfully held in Singapore, with a peak audience of 3.08 million and a cumulative total of over 130 million viewers, making it one of the most influential esports events in the world.

  • In March 2021, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) was once again selected as a medal event for SEA Games.

  • In March 2021, MOONTON Games and ByteDance reached a strategic acquisition agreement, after which Yuan Jing stayed on as CEO while MOONTON maintained independent operations.

  • In July 2021, MPL (MLBB Professional League) was launched in Brazil and Cambodia.

  • In August 2021, the total registered accounts of MLBB exceeded 1 billion.

  • In August 2021, Legends of Dawn - The Sacred Stone, the first animation series of MLBB was aired on WeTV (online platform), NET TV (Indonesia), ABS CBN (Philippines), Media Prima (Malaysia), and many other platforms around the world, with a cumulative total of 360 million views in its first run.

  • In October 2021, M2 was named the Best Esport Event of the Year at Gamescom Asia 2021 in Singapore.

  • In October 2021, the peak concurrent viewers (PCV) for MPL Season 8 in Indonesia reached 2.4 million, breaking the MPL viewing record and winning the 3rd place in the PCV rankings of the global professional esports event.

  • In November 2021, LIGA LATAM was successfully held, featuring eight teams from Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia.

  • In December 2021, M3 was successfully held in Singapore. The tournament's total viewing time exceeded 60 million hours, a 49% increase over M2, with a peak PCV of 3.19 million. This new record made MLBB the 3rd highest-rated mobile esports event in the world.

  • In 2021, MLBB ranked 1st in the global mobile esports viewing time chart with 386 million viewing hours, meaning that MLBB had become one of the most popular gaming events in the world.


2020
  • In October 2020, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang attained over 1 billion cumulative downloads, with peak monthly active users exceeding 100 million.


2019
  • In February 2019, MPL was launched in Myanmar.

  • In August 2019, Mobile Legends: Adventure was launched worldwide (Japan, Korea and China's mainland excluded) and was listed in Google Play 2019 Best of the Year - Best Casual Games.

  • In November 2019, the first Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Global Championship (M1) was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, featuring 16 competing teams from 14 countries, a cumulative total of over 40 million viewers and nearly 10 million hours of total viewing time.

  • In December 2019, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang officially became a medal sport of Southeast Asian Games.


2018
  • In March 2018, the MPL was launched in the Philippines.

  • In April 2018, the total registered accounts of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang exceeded 200 million.


2017
  • In May 2017, MOONTON held the first Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) offline esports tournament in Indonesia.

  • In September 2017, MOONTON held the first MSC (MLBB Southeast Asia Cup).

  • In November 2017, MOONTON launched the MPL (MLBB Professional League), a professional esports league based on MLBB, in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

    Scholarship Program for Indonesian students majoring in gaming and esports

    Collaborating with five universities in Jakarta, Bandung, and Jogjakarta, Moonton has offered support to over 100 students majoring in gaming and esports-related major. In addition to providing scholarships, we also offered mentorship and internship opportunities during the MDL program as practical career path for next generation.

    MLBB Esports always hope to let more PWD talents to be seen. In the ASEAN Para Games 2023, MLBB became the first ever Esports title in Para Games history. Four countries send their teams to compete, set the milestone that Para Esports players can have an international stage to gain glory for their country.

    On May 22, 2022, Dhaka University in Bangladesh held a small gathering of about 40 people. The organizers were college students from Dhaka University. They were enthusiastic about public welfare activities and donated MOONTON cultural shirts to donate food to local children and the poor.

    MOONTON Cares partnered with PBESI and Garudaku Academy to donate smartphones to rural schools in Indonesia, expanding digital access. We also offered MLBB Esports as an extracurricular activity to over 60 high schools and over 1,700 students, facilitating inter-school tournaments and talent scouting for the national team.

    From January to June 2021, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines and MPL-PH cooperated for the first time to promote MPL-PH S7 through advocacy. In addition to the team name, 10 teams also used some threatened wild Animal species named to raise awareness for wildlife conservation, reverse accelerating environmental degradation in the Philippines.

    In December 2019, MLBB launched the first MLBB official e-sports charity event in Singapore. This charity event took the e-sports entertainment event as an opportunity and invited more than 10 top KOLs in Singapore, including Jianhao Tan and Skywee. The donation organization is Club Rainbow, a well-known local charity in Singapore; the organization aims to help children with heart disease or their families, so as to help them solve the problems they encounter in the treatment of diseases or in daily life.
