MPL Indonesia launches Samsung Indonesia to the forefront of the gaming and esports universe
With the rapid growth of esports in Indonesia, particularly the popularity of MLBB, Samsung Indonesia recognized a significant opportunity to position itself as a leading mobile phone brand within the gaming community. By aligning with MPL Indonesia, Samsung Indonesia aimed to not only capture the attention of Gen-Z and Millennial gamers but also establish its devices as essential tools for competitive play. This partnership provided a platform to enhance brand visibility, drive product engagement, and create unique experiences that resonate with a passionate audience.
In August 2020, Samsung Indonesia officially partnered with MPL Indonesia, marking the beginning of a transformative collaboration. This partnership resulted in several key initiatives, including the introduction of the exclusive Team Galaxy Zone at MLBB esports events, where Samsung users enjoyed premium experiences and front-row seating. The "Raja Galaxy" (King of the Galaxy) campaign was launched to draw close parallels between the Galaxy Series phones and the champions of MPL Indonesia. Furthermore, Samsung developed tailored gaming packages for MPL Indonesia fans, featuring the latest Galaxy A55 5G, effectively integrating its products into the gaming lifestyle.
The partnership has been highly successful, evolving from a standard sponsorship into a strategic alliance that has elevated both brands. Building on this success, Samsung Indonesia has come onboard, supporting the league with their flagship devices as the Official Tournament Smartphones since Season 11. As the Official Tournament Smartphone for Season 14, the Galaxy S24 Ultra continues to deliver reliable performance during tournaments, essential for supporting our professional MLBB athletes. The partnership’s longevity, extending from Season 6 to Season 16, highlights its effectiveness in building a strong brand presence within Indonesia’s esports landscape, effectively capitalizing on the initial opportunity to engage with gamers.
