Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has been named Mobile Esports Game of the Year at the GamingonPhone Awards 2026, marking the fifth time the title has received the honour. The MOONTON Games Public Relations (PR) Team was also named PR/Marketing Team of the Year, its second win in the category.
The two awards recognise distinct achievements. MLBB's fifth Mobile Esports Game of the Year win reflects the game's continued growth as a global competitive title, while the PR/Marketing Team of the Year award recognises the team's ability to demonstrate exceptional creativity, strategy, and impact in elevating a mobile gaming brand, launch, or campaign.
The recognitions come during MLBB's 10th anniversary. Through the global ALL IN MLBB campaign, the game celebrated the players, communities, creators, and esports talent who have grown with it over the past decade—while inviting them into its next chapter.
From its Southeast Asian roots, MLBB has grown into a global game and esports platform with more than 1.5 billion installations and 110 million monthly active users across over 80 countries. Its anniversary brought players together through hero revamps, in-game rewards, and player-led storytelling, alongside locally tailored offline celebrations across 10 countries and three continents.
Marcus Lim, Head of Public Relations (Overseas) at MOONTON Games, said: "This is MLBB's fifth Mobile Esports Game of the Year. The timing couldn't be better as we celebrate 10 years of MLBB this month. The last decade is testament to the players, teams, creators, partners, and of course, the media, who have supported and grown with us. And we continue to grow—not just as a globally visible ecosystem, but one that enables global participation. Receiving PR/Marketing Team of the Year for a second time is also deeply meaningful. PR teams more often stand in the shadows, but we are grateful to have been acknowledged for our work making MOONTON Games and its products so beloved worldwide."
Tousif Hasan Biswas, Founder & CEO, GamingonPhone, said: “MOONTON Games’ wins at the GamingonPhone Awards 2026 reflect the impact the company continues to make across the mobile games industry, from building successful esports ecosystems to fostering strong communities and delivering experiences that resonate with players worldwide. These awards also recognise the people and teams working behind the scenes to move the industry forward. Congratulations to the MOONTON Games team on this well-deserved recognition, and to Team Spirit for being named Team of the Year.”
MLBB's fifth Mobile Esports Game of the Year award reflects a year of major global milestones. The M7 World Championship became the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history, reaching 5.68 million peak concurrent viewers, according to Esports Charts. The MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and MLBB Women's International (MWI) made their European debut at the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Paris, while MLBB also made its debut as a medal event at the Asian Games. The M8 World Championship Finals will bring the M Series to Europe for the first time when they take place in Istanbul, Türkiye, in January 2027.
The ceremony also recognised Team Spirit as Mobile Esports Team of the Year, following its historic victory at the MSC at EWC 2026 in Paris. As the first team from outside Southeast Asia to win an official international MLBB major, Team Spirit's achievement demonstrated the growing depth and competitiveness of the global MLBB ecosystem.
The GamingonPhone Awards 2026 were hosted in Thailand, a key market in MLBB's global expansion journey. The country will continue to play a role in the ecosystem's next chapter by hosting upcoming major MLBB competitions, including the MLBB SEA Championship Tour (MCT SEA) and the M8 Wild Card in December 2026.
