MOONTON Games walks off with four awards at the annual Philippine Esports Awards

MANILA, 11 April – MOONTON Games, an international gaming developer known for producing the groundbreaking mobile hit, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, walked off with four awards at the annual Philippine Esports Awards tonight. At the GT Toyota Auditorium in UP Diliman, the gala celebrated outstanding mobile esports achievements in front of a crowd of 300 attendees.

The following awards were won by MOONTON Games: 

  1. 2023 Esports Game Publisher of the Year

  2. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang - 2023 Esports Game of the Year

  3. M5 World Championship - 2023 Event of the Year

  4. Keith Medrano - 2023 Esports and Gaming Positive Influencer of the Year

“The M5 World Championship was such a monumental esports and gaming event, not only because it was hosted here in the Philippines, but also because it served as a platform for us to connect with the underserved and push the boundaries through education, diversity, and inclusion programs. These awards will serve as a reminder for us to remain committed to bring positive societal impact and exciting gameplay for our fans,” said Keith Medrano, PR Regional Manager, MOONTON Games. 

"We feel grateful for these recognitions from the Philippine Esports Awards, and we dedicate these to our fans from all over the world," he added. 

The M5 World Championship was held last year in Manila, which enticed over 20,000 offline participants, mainly hailing from the Philippines. Endorsed by The Department of Tourism, the M5 World Championship was the first-ever international esports tournament successfully held in the nation and garnered a peak concurrent viewership of 5,067,107.
