MPL Malaysia celebrates 10 seasons of esports adventures with #10BERSAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 July – The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) reaches a hallmark with its tenth season and will be kickstarting a series of celebrations to commemorate its esports fans that have grown alongside the players and teams through the 10th-anniversary campaign, #10BERSAMA. In partnership with TikTok, MPL MY fans will stand a chance to acquire in-game prizes and more, and catch their favourite teams in-person from the Regular Season onwards on 5 August.

One of the largest team and player shuffles in MPLMY history 

This season has brought one of the biggest MPL shuffles, and MPL MY is no exception. New Filipino coach John Theo Eusebio (Raizen) from Z4 Esports will join Rexvinn, Sarawak-born and bred Head Coach as Suhaz Esports' analyst. Suhaz has also brought in two new players from MPL ID; Rico (V1NSMOKE) from RRQ Sena, Daffa Dwita Siregar (Oxygen) from Impunity Imperial to launch an all-new offense to compete for gold in MPL MY S10. 

Team SMG has also brought in a new player from the Philippines, Hate from ONIC PH, to the local battlefield. Dato' M.Nasir, a national legend, also joins the arena as RSG MY's ambassador in their conquest for gold. 

As for the qualified squads - Team Haq and Team Lunatix have joined the ranks of the six invited teams after thwarting GeekFam and S9 inductee – MAB Esports. MSC 2022 qualified players; Minn, Mann, Garyy, Lolla, and Pabz (Coach) will also now be fighting in Team HAQ as one – after being loaned out as members to other teams for the past MPL MY seasons. This season will enable teams to qualify for the M-World Championship, held in January 2023. 

Enhanced broadcast dynamics and on-ground activation

This season, viewers are in for a treat with MPL MY's new and specialized dynamic content experience that will be produced on-screen, with professional data analysis that will be broadcast in real-time. Audiences will be able to gain a much better understanding of the hero selection, and selected comments will be broadcasted live to engage fans even further. Both on-ground and online viewers will get increased opportunities to win prizes or in-game items just by watching the live and commenting, each Friday to Sunday from August 5 onwards. 

Fans can catch their favourite team in-person, during the Regular Season to Playoffs at Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur. Held in EBN Esports City, Level 6, MPL MY teams will be competing at the arena for a lion's share of USD 100,000. Ticket sales will commence from 29 June, 7PM MYT onwards, for the first week of the MPL MY S10.

Revamped awards and the all-exclusive #10BERSAMA Lagenda Award 

There will be new award mechanisms for MPL MY S10's MVPs and Rookies, which will not include audience voting, but coach and team captains to ensure that players of high caliber and quality get their chance to shine. Fans can now be a part of the voting system through the talent awards and the following categories: 

(1) Gameplay Award: Fans can select which is the best and most memorable gameplay of the regular season 

(2) Dream Team Award: The return of role award, fans can select which players are the best at their role to form the Dream Team of the season 

(3) #10BERSAMA Lagenda Award: An award to celebrate the best personality of MPL Malaysia (award exclusive to the tenth season) 

The league is also looking to promote inclusivity and diversity by opening up its third-party tournament policy to encourage more partners, brands and organisers to create or run esports competitions.
