Maycam Evolve clinch Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) LATAM and qualify for M6 World Championship in debut season

BRAZIL, 14 October – Maycam Evolve have dethroned the Kings of LATAM in their debut season to become the second team to qualify for the M6 World Championship! The Argentinian team executed an immaculate 4-0 clean sweep of defending champions, RRQ Akira, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) LATAM Season 2 Grand Final yesterday (13 October) to qualify for the flagship Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports tournament. They also took home USD 8,000 of the tournament's USD 28,000 prize pool.

Dubbed "The Kings of MLBB in LATAM", RRQ Akira have won every single tournament on the continent that they have participated in – from MPL Brazil Season 2 to Season 5, as well as MPL LATAM Season 1. The multi-gaming organisation also holds a record 33-match winning streak, from MPL Brazil Season 2 to the M4 World Championship. 

As the first runner-up of MPL LATAM, RRQ Akira qualify for the M6 Wild Card Stage, joining The MongolZ, who qualified last month after winning the ESN National Championship 2024. RRQ Akira also received USD 6,000 from the MPL LATAM Season 2 purse.

The M Series is a world-class, globalised championship that represents the pinnacle of competitive MLBB gaming. The sixth edition will be hosted in Malaysia, commencing with the Wild Card Stage, where eight teams will compete for a single slot on the Main Stage. The Main Stage will bring together the world's strongest 16 MLBB teams – including the Wild Card winner – to compete for a USD 1 million prize pool. 

MPL LATAM is the top MLBB professional league in Latin America and features the strongest athletes from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay. It was launched in 2024 as a merger of MPL Brazil, MLBB LATAM Super League (MLSL) North, and MLSL South. MPL LATAM is the first MPL hosted outside of Southeast Asia, with MPL Brazil having been launched in 2021. 

Maycam Evolve's Cinderella Story Ends With 4-0 Victory! 

Maycam Evolve won their maiden MPL LATAM title in front of thousands of fans at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, which was held on the sidelines of the Brasil Game Show (BGS) 2024. The BGS is the largest event for games in Latin America and one of the world’s biggest events, having welcomed more than 500 million visitors since its first edition in 2009. 

Maycam Evolve's Jungler, Juan "AURORAA" Tello, was named the Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP), for his deft use of the heroes Yi Sun-shin, Hayabusa, and Lancelot. He took home a cash prize of USD 1,000. The rest of Maycam Evolve comprise EXP Laner Marcó "Markinho" Maita; Mid Laner Juan "Feshin" Rafael; Gold Laner Matias "Yur" Canaviri; and Roamer "Super Nahuel", and Coach Maximiliano "El Viejo" Frenedoso. 

RRQ Akira comprise "EXP Laner Arthur "Tekashi" Nascimento; Jungler Lucas "Kiing" Godoy; Mid Laner Matheus "Seigen" Lima; Gold Laner Gustavo "Gustalagusta" Lima; Roamer Luiz "Luiizz" Alves; substitute Gabriel "Blink" Favoreto; and Coach Godman "Cabral" Cabral." 

MPL Singapore's NIP Flash was the first team to qualify for the M6 after defeating EVIL 4-1 in the Grand Finals on 13 October.
