Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia concluded its Season 15 Regular Season with a host of new records for the league. Malaysia's longest running and most popular esports event confirmed these new milestones during the final week of its Regular Season, which took place yesterday (25 May) at the Stadium of Champions (Stadium Juara) in Bukit Kiara.
MPL Malaysia is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Rakan Muda, Esports Integrated (ESI), the Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF), and Persatuan Stadium Malaysia (PSM).
The Kings March Onward To Riyadh
Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG) maintained their dominance as the Kings of the Regular Season after finishing top of the standings for the third successive season with 26 points, the first time for any team in league history. MPL Malaysia's back-to-back champions swept Ocean Black (OB) and Team Rey (TR) 2-0 in Week 6 of the Regular Season to achieve an unbeaten 9-0 match win-loss run this season, a replication of their immaculate performance in Season 13. SRG enter the Playoffs with one of the coveted Upper Bracket Semi Finals slots and are one step away from defending their world crown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Playoffs marks the final stage of the Season 15 campaign, where the top two teams will represent Malaysia at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) at 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) with its USD 3,000,000 (~MYR 12,693,000) prize pool. SRG are the reigning champions, having upset world champions, Falcons AP.Bren (FCAP), 4-3 in the Grand Finals last year.
Homebois (HB) defeated Monster Vicious (MV) 2-1 in their final match of the Regular Season to secure second place and the other Upper Bracket Semi Finals slot. The Season 12 champions amassed 22 points and an 8-1 match win-loss ratio this season, a complete reversal of their 11-pointer, 2-7 record last season. The transfers of three new players—Exp Laner, Kenley "Veldora" Zefanya; Gold Laner, Adam "Melqt" Hamidun; and Roamer Vincentsius "Ivannn" Adrianto—have transformed HB into genuine title contenders.
MV in third on 17 points, AERO Esports (AERO) in fourth on 16 points, Team Vamos (VMS) in fifth on 14 points, and DX Soul (DXS) in sixth on 13 points, are the rest of the teams who qualify for the Playoffs.
Todak (TDK), one of Malaysia's oldest and most decorated teams, failed to qualify for the Playoffs for the first time since their debut in Season 4. TDK lifted the MPL Malaysia trophy in Season 6, 9, and 11, and even secured a third-place finish at the inaugural M1 World Championship, MOONTON Games' flagship international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament. However, their inconsistent performances this season saw them earn a meagre 10 points to finish seventh, one place away from qualification.
With their hopes to qualify for the Playoffs snuffed out, TDK lost 0-2 in their penultimate match to JP Niners on Day 3 (25 May) to conclude a disappointing season.
