Selangor Red Giants OG Esports lift the new MPL Malaysia Immortal Cup after their Season 15 triumph.
Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG) etched their name in the annals of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) history last night after winning MLBB Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 15. This marked their third consecutive title victory, a feat no other team had previously achieved. The three-peat league champions needed a mere 62 minutes and 53 seconds to sweep Homebois (HB) 4-0 in a full-house Stadium Juara.
More than 1,800 fans packed the Grand Finals arena in Stadium Juara.
SRG's Gold Laner, John "Innocent" Vincent Banal, was named the Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP) after securing two Savages—where a player scores five enemy kills in quick succession—in Games 2 and 3, bringing his total season tally to five—an all-time record in MPL Malaysia.
SRG and HB will fly Malaysia's flag at the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) at 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next month. Despite being Malaysia's best MLBB teams, both will consider themselves underdogs after Malaysia's underwhelming performance on home soil at the M6 World Championship, MLBB's last major esports event. However, SRG have a track record of achieving the impossible in Riyadh, having defied the odds—in "Pantang Mengalah" (meaning "Never Back Down" in Bahasa Malaysia) style—to win both the inaugural EWC and the World Esports Championship (WEC) 2024 last year. MSC at EWC 25 offers a record-high USD 3,000,000 (~MYR 12,693,000) prize pool.
Simon Lim, Chairman of Selangor Red Giants Esports, said: "Whenever the players are not happy with their scrims on certain days, they request to scrim extra. They are willing to work overtime, they are willing to put extra effort for that. And this is the prize that they get today, a three-peat. So hence, I'm very happy with the journey. But our journey has not ended yet. We still have a bigger challenge in MSC at EWC 25. The boys will have a rest for seven days and then come back fresh, recharged, all the way focused on MSC. We want to try to defend our title. It's not going to be easy, as you see every team has already stepped up. But I'm feeling very optimistic with the players and the coaches; I have trust in them. And who knows, we might be a back-to-back MSC champion."
Natus Vincere Malaysia (NAVI MY) will also represent Malaysia at the MLBB Women's Invitation at EWC 25 in Riyadh. MWI at EWC 25 will feature a USD 500,000 (~MYR 2,212,000) purse, one of the largest in women's esports history.
NAVI MY will carry Malaysia's flag at MWI at EWC 25 next month.
YB Adam Adli, Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, sent off SRG, HB, and NAVI MY with a mandate to bring the "Pantang Mengalah" spirit to the international stage. He also participated in a press conference and closed-door briefing with MOONTON Games, brand partners, and industry stakeholders.
YB Adam said: "It is truly remarkable to witness how MLBB has united Malaysia through esports. Last year, I saw the whole nation come together to support SRG at the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2024 in Riyadh. They eventually brought home Malaysia's first major MLBB Esports championship and USD 1,000,000 in prize money. This year, I would like Malaysians to set aside our differences and rally behind our national representatives. We must put team rivalries and backgrounds aside. As long as they represent our country on the world stage, we rally behind them. I wish both teams the best of luck. Show the world our Pantang Mengalah spirit!"

YB Adam added: "To our industry and corporate leaders: your investment in esports is an investment in our future. The returns are real—not just financially, but socially and economically too. The passion and professionalism displayed by our teams, talents, and organisers is world-class. It is time we match that energy with bold corporate support. I urge more sponsors to come forward to support the MLBB esports scene. Together, we can build a sustainable ecosystem that benefits our youth, our digital economy, and our status as a global powerhouse in esports!"
