Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) returns on August 22, ushering in Season 16 with the theme “The Eras of the League – Lakas ng Pinas.” Running until October 12 at Green Sun Hotel in Makati, the Regular Season will celebrate the defining moments and metas that have shaped the global MLBB scene, while opening a new chapter in the country’s esports legacy.
MPL PH Season 16 is more than just a competition—it is a celebration of the enduring legacies shaped by Filipino playstyles, strategies, and champions who have left a lasting mark on the global stage. From international achievements to meta-defining plays, the league reaffirms that every era of Philippine MLBB is built on puso at galing.
“Season 16 is where history and innovation meet,” said Matthew Chan, PH Head of Esports at MOONTON Games. “We honour the eras that have shaped MPL Philippines while setting the stage for new legacies that will carry Lakas ng Pinas to even greater heights. Season 16 invites fans to look back with pride and forward with purpose.”
Tough road leading to M7 World Championship
Season 16 will showcase the Annual Map Change, the biggest version update of the year that will last for four seasons until September 2026. Launching on September 17, this update introduces four new maps along with gameplay adjustments that will impact all heroes, setting the stage for fresh strategies and unexpected metas that could shape the road to the M7 World Championship in January 2026.
As MPL PH evolves into a new era, it also celebrates the anniversary of MLBB during Week 5 of the Regular Season. The festivities will continue at the Playoffs with the expansion of the MPL PH Festival, growing from 100 to 1,000 attendees and transforming into a large-scale community hub with era-themed activations, sponsor booths, watch parties, and live entertainment.
Fresh rosters, new rivalries, unprecedented actions
Season 16 opens a new chapter in the eras of MPL PH, where every roster move and rivalry adds to the league’s growing legacy. This season features headline transfers, rookie debuts, and the return of veterans whose names are etched into MPL history.
Team Liquid PH led by KarlTzy is on a mission to complete their Golden Road, while Kelra and ONIC PH seek redemption in reclaiming their crown. Aurora Gaming is building chemistry with the return of Light to the league, and several teams have bolstered their rosters to challenge the throne.
Each match is more than a battle for points: It is a clash of eras, where old champions defend their legacies while new contenders rise to carve out their place in the story of Lakas ng Pinas. As with every era before it, a new champion will emerge to carry Philippine dominance to the world stage at the M7 World Championship in 2026.

Smart Battle Trips will take students and aspiring esports professionals behind the scenes, offering full-day industry experiences including arena tours, workshops with MPL veterans, and live match viewing.
The Infinix Fansiklaban returns for its third season, giving super fans a chance to compete in 5v5 matches while representing their favorite franchises. Powered by Infinix gaming phones, Fansiklaban will showcase a live leaderboard, daily matches, and exclusive in-game prizes.

MDL PH Season 6: From grassroots to greatness
MLBB Development League Philippines (MDL PH) also returns for Season 6 beginning August 19, serving as the official pathway to MPL PH. Featuring 16 teams from across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the league highlights rising stars from collegiate, grassroots, independent, and MPL-affiliated squads, showcasing the next generation of talent ready to carry forward the legacy of Filipino esports. Matches stream live every Tuesday to Thursday at 2:00 p.m. on MDL Philippines’ Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok pages.
