Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is the most-viewed esports title in Esports World Cup (EWC) history! The Mid Season Cup (MSC) at EWC 25 drew over 3 million Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV), making it the first tournament to reach this milestone, according to Esports Charts. Riding this record-breaking momentum, MOONTON Games has unveiled the slot allocation for the M7 World Championship (M7).

The staging of the flagship international MLBB tournament in Indonesia is set to elevate MLBB Esports to new heights. In January 2026, the M Series will host its largest edition yet—marking a homecoming for the game's most passionate fans. The upcoming M7 introduces a major update with two Wild Card teams now qualifying for the Main Stage. This change coincides with the M Series' long-awaited return to Indonesia, the nation at the beating heart of MLBB Esports. The new structure will debut in Jakarta, turning the city into a global esports stage and highlighting MLBB's cultural impact in Indonesia.

The M7 will unite 22 of the world's best MLBB teams to compete for the USD 1 million prize pool. The tournament kicks off with eight Wild Card hopefuls fighting for two coveted Main Stage slots. The two Wild Card winners will join 14 directly-qualified Main Stage teams in the fight for MLBB Esports' most prestigious title. This format opens the door for emerging regions to shine on MLBB Esports' home ground. M7 also marks Japan's return to the M Series after five editions, following their recent comeback at MSC at EWC 25.

MLBB is one of the most popular esports titles worldwide. According to Esports Charts, it was the standout  title at EWC 25. With over 50.32 million Hours Watched (HW) across the MSC and MLBB Women's Invitational (MWI), MLBB accounted for over a quarter of the multi-title event's total viewership. Recording over 3.06 million PCV this year, MSC became the most-watched tournament in EWC history. The tournament surpassed its own record of 2.38 million PCV set by MSC 2024.

Artyom Odintsov, Co-founder and CEO of Esports Charts, said: "MSC not only set a new record for the EWC series, but the mobile gaming esports tournament was one of the most-watched events in MLBB history. With this in mind, MLBB could be the new face of the EWC. It boasted one of the largest prize pools this year, dominated in terms of HW, and had the highest PCV of any tournament at the event."

Riding the momentum of MSC at EWC 25, the upcoming M7 will become the M Series' largest edition yet. Staged in Jakarta, Indonesia, it will captivate fans worldwide and cement MLBB's place as a global esports phenomenon. The M Series has long stood as the pinnacle of MLBB Esports. The global tournament unites players, teams, and fans worldwide in a celebration of competitive excellence. Returning to Indonesia, every team will be determined to claim the crown in what is regarded the homeland of MLBB Esports. For Indonesian teams, the stakes are even higher. The nation lifted the inaugural M Series trophy in 2019 but has yet to reclaim it, making the dream of winning on home soil burn stronger than ever.

At the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Indonesia Season 15 Grand Finals, Indonesia's Minister of Youth and Sports, Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo, said: "I could really feel the atmosphere and the energy from the crowd felt just like what you'd expect from our local fans. The [Jakarta International] Velodrome was packed, and the outdoor area was so full they had to set up a giant LED screen for the watch party. It felt no different from watching a basketball, football, or badminton final." The moment underlined how MLBB has grown into a cultural phenomenon, with community passion matching that of Indonesia's most popular mainstream sports.

Tiger Xu, Global Head of MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, said: "Indonesia has always been at the heart of MLBB. At every local and international tournament, we feel the burning energy and passion of our Indonesian fans. Bringing the M Series back to Jakarta will make this edition its biggest and most spectacular yet! The M7 is more than just an MLBB world championship—it's a celebration of Indonesia. It shines a spotlight on the country's culture and sporting spirit, while sharing the passion of its fans with the world."

Most recently, Indonesia made headlines at the EWC 25 when Team Vitality won the MWI. The Indonesian representatives claimed their third title and set a new competitive standard as the first team to win a MLBB women's title unbeaten. The country continues to produce some of the strongest and most popular MLBB teams, reinforcing its reputation in competitive excellence and esports culture.

Artyom, added: "Indonesian language viewership made up a huge portion of the MSC at EWC 25 viewership, with over 45% of the total HW from the tournament coming from Indonesian language broadcasts. Driven by teams such as ONIC ID and RRQ Hoshi, the Indonesian language is the dominant force behind the MSC at the moment. With that in mind, I am personally intrigued to see just how record-breaking the M7 can be and if Indonesia will be at the forefront of it."

Indonesia remains the powerhouse of MLBB's global fan base. The local league, MPL Indonesia, has surpassed 100 million HW in each of its past four seasons. According to Esports Charts, MLBB emerged as the most-watched mobile esports title in 2024. This milestone was powered by the M6 World Championship's 4.1 million PCV.
