Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) is celebrating its first anniversary with Season 6: Dawnlight Celebration! Marking a year of growth and achievements, the campaign serves as a "thank you" to the players and community at the heart of MCGG's journey. The festivities will feature a lineup of in-game activations and rewards, headlined by the redesigned Layla "Blue Spectre" MCGG skin. Season 6 will also introduce MCGG Rising Star (MRS) Crew Clash, a new competition featuring a US$50,000 prize pool that encourages players to band together and compete as Crews.

Join MCGG's birthday bash

From now till 21 June, the coveted Layla "Blue Spectre" MCGG skin takes centre stage. Reimagined from one of the rarest and earliest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) skins, it serves as a tribute to the players and community who have shaped MCGG's journey over the past year. Available for free through the Rainbow Flash event, players can complete tasks to earn event items that can be exchanged for anniversary letters. Collect anniversary letters from all 36 heroes to redeem the full set of rewards, including Layla's "Blue Spectre" skin, Layla's "Blue Spectre" painted skin, a one-year anniversary emote, and a commemorative anniversary album.

The celebration also introduces the Anniversary Cake Chessboard event, a card-flipping mini-game where players progress by matching cards across four levels. From 10 to 21 June 2026, players who complete the event can collect one of four free chessboards, each created to commemorate MCGG's first year and give the battlefield a festive anniversary touch.

MCGG Rising Stars—now upgraded

Players can also keep the celebrations going with a chance to win a share of the US$50,000 prize pool in MCGG Rising Star (MRS) Crew Clash. Players must work together as Crews to complete missions, earn points, and rise through the rankings. The highest-performing MRS Crews will claim the biggest rewards! A year of milestones 

MCGG has enjoyed a standout first year since its Global Launch in May 2025. The title surpassed 30 million downloads within two weeks and earned the 2025 Google Play Best Game Award across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. It also launched its first-ever collaboration,  joining forces with THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF)—the legendary franchise that has inspired generations of gamers.

Beyond gameplay, MCGG has established a thriving esports ecosystem spanning community, national, regional, and international competition. That growth culminated in the GO1 World Championship (GO1), the title's first offline global championship, which recorded 290,546 Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV). According to Esports Charts, the milestone places MCGG "among the fastest-growing esports titles and highlights the strong competitive potential not only of the game itself, but of the auto battler genre as a whole."

MCGG's rise has also extended beyond the esports arena. In December 2025, the title made history at the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games as the first mobile Auto Chess title featured at the event. The milestone demonstrates how the MCGG has evolved beyond gaming and esports, serving as platforms that bridge countries, communities, and players across the world.
