Mongolia hosts the MCT EA as East Asia's top MLBB teams take on the world for the M8 World Championship

MCT EA

Mongolia is set to host the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) East Asia Championship Tour (MCT EA) from 29 to 31 October 2026. Six of the region's top teams converge at M Bank Arena in Ulaanbaatar to take on the world for the M8 World Championship (M8).

The MCT EA Ulaanbaatar stop will be the first MCT EA tournament to ladder up to the M Series, MLBB's flagship global competition. The champion will qualify directly for the M8 Main Stage taking place in Türkiye in January 2027, while the second- and third-placed teams will secure slots at M8 Wild Card, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, in December 2026.

As the East Asia circuit within MLBB's five-region global strategy, MCT EA connects local competition across China, Mongolia, Japan, and South Korea. The circuit creates a unified pathway for emerging teams and players to test themselves against the region's best and gain international competitive experience.

The three-day tournament will begin at 13:00 (GMT+8) each day:

  • 29 October – Group Stage

  • 30 October – Knockout Stage

  • 31 October – Grand Final Stage

The Group Stage will feature a single round-robin format, with all matches played as Best-of-Two (BO2) series. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Knockout Stage, where they will compete in a double-elimination bracket for the championship.

China and Mongolia will each field two teams, while South Korea and Japan will each be represented by one team. The Group Stage draw is as follows:

  • Group A: DFYG (China), MIO AHP (Mongolia), and Zero Gravity (South Korea)

  • Group B: The MongolZ (Mongolia), GZG (China), and Tokyo Cinnamon (Japan)

The Grand Final will introduce the "Immortality Armour" mechanic, giving the Upper Bracket winner a competitive advantage for progressing through the double-elimination bracket without a loss. The series will begin as a Best-of-Seven (BO7): if the Upper Bracket winner reaches four wins first, they will be crowned champions.

Should the Lower Bracket winner secure four wins first, they will trigger an "Armour Break", removing the Upper Bracket winner's Immortality Armour. Both teams will then need one further win to claim the championship. If the series reaches a 4–4 tie following the Armour Break, it will proceed to "The Decider"—a winner-takes-all final game to determine the MCT EA champions.

The MCT EA champion will qualify directly for the M8 Main Stage, while the second- and third-placed teams will secure M8 Wild Card slots.

Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON Games, said: "MCT EA brings East Asia's strongest teams together on one stage, creating opportunities for players across the region to compete, exchange experience, and grow through high-level competition. The Ulaanbaatar stop is not only a battle for the championship, but also a platform to showcase the distinct competitive styles and growing strength of MLBB Esports across East Asia. Through regional competition, we aim to strengthen East Asia's connection to the global MLBB Esports ecosystem and create clearer pathways for teams to gain international experience and reach the world stage. We look forward to seeing all six teams showcase their best and deliver an exciting tournament for fans in Ulaanbaatar."

Co-hosted by MOONTON Games and Mongolia's Esports Network (ESN), MCT EA Ulaanbaatar marks the circuit's continued expansion across East Asia. Following the opening stop in Shanghai, the tournament brings MLBB's international pathway to Mongolia, placing local fans at the centre of the region's road to the M Series.
