Malaysia's biggest esports showdown is set to return with a nationwide celebration of esports, entertainment, and local traditions as the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 18 Playoffs take over Stadium Juara, Kuala Lumpur, from 28 October to 1 November.
The Season 18 Playoffs will extend beyond Stadium Juara, connecting Malaysians across the country through three Juara initiatives: Pesta Juara, Mamak Juara, and Anak Juara. Together, they will bring the Playoffs experience to life through a festival, nationwide watch parties, and stories celebrating homegrown esports stars and their roots.
Beyond the national title, national pride will take centre stage as Malaysia's top Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams battle for two coveted direct qualification spots at the M8 World Championship (M8) Main Stage and the honour of representing the nation on the global stage. The five-day Playoffs will culminate in the CelcomDigi Dream Stage season finale on 1 November.
Beyond the arena: Celebrating Malaysian culture and community

Making its debut at Season 18, Pesta Juara will transform the MPL Malaysia Playoffs venue into a pasar malam (night market) inspired festival, bringing together Malaysia's love for food, esports, and entertainment under one roof. Featuring Zon Makan (Food Zone) by GrabFood, the festival will create a lively space for fans and communities to gather, dine, and enjoy the Playoffs experience beyond the competition. Building on the spirit of togetherness seen at MLBB's 10th anniversary celebrations in Malaysia, including #Karnival10BersamaMLBB in Kuching earlier this month, Pesta Juara will welcome Malaysians from all walks of life. Set to become a recurring feature of future MPL Malaysia Playoffs, the festival will also provide opportunities for local businesses and brands to participate.
Taking the Grand Finals experience nationwide, Mamak Juara will bring the excitement of the season finale to communities across different states through simultaneous watch parties. Rooted in Malaysia's mamak culture, the initiative will turn familiar neighbourhood gathering spots into shared spaces for esports, bringing Malaysians together to cheer for their favourite teams.
Celebrating the people behind Malaysia's esports success, Anak Juara will put the spotlight on homegrown players, tracing their journeys from their hometowns to the professional esports stage. Through their personal stories, the initiative will celebrate the roots, experiences, and communities that have shaped Malaysia's esports talent.
Further details on Mamak Juara and Anak Juara, including participating watch-party locations, will be announced soon.

Six teams advance to Playoffs as Malaysia's road to the M8 expands

Under Season 18's 8 Cerita (Eight Stories) theme, eight teams began their journey towards the Playoffs. Following the conclusion of the Regular Season on 18 October, six remain in contention: Selangor Red Giants (SRG), Team Rey (TR), Team Vamos (VMS), Invictus Gaming (iG), Bigetron MY by VIT (BTRM) and Team Flash (FL). SRG and TR secured the top two seeds, advancing directly to the Upper Bracket Semi Finals, while the remaining four teams will begin their Playoffs campaigns in the Upper Bracket Quarter Finals.
Malaysia's pathway to the M8 extends beyond MPL Malaysia through the newly launched MLBB Championship Tour Southeast Asia (MCT SEA). The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Academy League Malaysia (MAL MY) Season 6 winner will compete against MLBB Development League (MDL) champions from Indonesia and the Philippines for a place in the MCT SEA Playoffs. From there, teams will compete for two Main Stage berths and two Wild Card berths at the M8, offering Malaysia's emerging talent another opportunity to reach the global stage.
Awaiting Malaysia's representatives is a historic edition of the M Series. The M8 Finals in Istanbul, Türkiye, in January 2027 will mark the M Series' European debut, bringing MLBB Esports' flagship international competition to the continent for the first time and reinforcing its continued global expansion. The M Series also holds the record as the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history, with the M7 World Championship recording 5.68 million Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV), according to Esports Charts.
