KUALA LUMPUR, 2 June – With Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister in attendance, Selangor Red Giants defeated the Homebois 4-2 in the Grand Finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia today (2 June). Their victory confirmed an unbeaten Season 13 for the Red Giants, who will be representing Malaysia at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where a life-changing USD 3,000,000 (~MYR 14 million) prize pool awaits. 2nd-placed Homebois will progress to the Wild Card stage, where they will compete against seven other teams for a place on the main stage.
MPL Malaysia is organised by MOONTON Games and IO Esports, and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and Esports Integrated (ESI). It is Malaysia's longest-running and most popular esports league.
The Grand Finals was played in front of a full house at the MPL MY Arena at MBSJ Stadium in Serdang Jaya.

The government will continue to give recognition to the esports industry at cabinet level, said Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Zahid bin Hamidi in an exclusive press conference with media.
"As Chairman of the Sports Development Cabinet Committee (JKPS), I will bring this recognition at the cabinet level," he said.
He also sent a message of encouragement to Selangor Red Giants and Homebois before they proceed to represent the nation at the MSC 2024.
He said: "Engrave the brilliant name of Malaysia on the international stage."

Grand Finals sets all-time high viewership record for Malaysia esports
The Season 13 Grand Finals set an all-time high viewership record for an esports event in Malaysia with 610,943 peak concurrent viewers (PCV), according to esports analytics platform, Esports Charts. This exceeds the previous high set in the previous season of MPL Malaysia, which was 551,847 PCV, according to Esports Charts.
